INFRASTRUCTURE
Sports are an integral part of the school’s curriculum. Physical ability coupled with mental ability forms the backbone of the training imparted to the students. As such the school has inducted proper curriculum for students to ensure their fitness and a variety of indoor and outdoor games like Table Tennis, Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball, Basket Ball, Kabaddi, skating and athletics/ throws etc.The school has provision for all games. Games are played under the supervision of an expert Coach. A large number of Athletic events namely discuss throws, javelin, shot-put, cross-country race etc. for both boys and girls are also organized.
The school has a big Stadium adjacent to Main School Building for Sports like Cricket, Football, Athletic events etc. The School has a Basketball Court near Plus Two section of the school. Facilities for net practice in cricket is also available in school campus. Volleyball Court is also available in school premises. All kinds sporting items and accessories for various games are available at school for nurturing a spirit of good sportsmanship among the students.
All students are encouraged to participate in one or more of the sports that are offered. The athletics program is designed to provide optimum opportunities for all students to integrate physical development with the academic programme of SJS and add to a sense of school spirit and identity. The primary goals of sports here is the development of skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and team spirit. Participation of all students is encouraged without regard to skill level, experience or game knowledge. Special training camps for the deserving sportsmen to increase their proficiency in sports and athletics are organised at School.
